Description
For the past two and a half years that I have been living in Beirut, I have passed this one homeless man, who rests on a wheelchair, on the street. I only see him every few months, but each time a particular issue of his stands out: His left arm.
It's swollen, perhaps 2-3 times larger than a normal arm. A lot of muscle and tissue are missing and I'm no doctor, but I am certain that it's medically impossible for him to even be able to survive with such a wounded arm. You can see straight to the bone. It's terrifying and each time I see him, it is progressively worse. Today, I passed him and I almost fainted in the car (I am perhaps weak for this). There is a giant hole in his arm, straight to the bone. It is maybe the size of an adult-sized shoe. He needs medical attention asap.
Today when I saw him I was on the highway passing Downtown going towards Achrafieh. He was standing under the overpass of the highway. The first time I saw him, I was near ABC Achrafieh. He is never in the same place, but generally I only see him in these areas.
